Saturday

Saturdays are the days we usually use for rest and recreation. We may go hiking or visiting friends after sleeping late and relaxing with a quiet breakfast.  Today, we pray with the God who is our peace.

Let’s pray:

++ God who is with us,

Thank you for seeing us through another week.

Thank you for every gift and blessing and challenge that you have invited us into this week.

Thank you for every way that we recognize you and every way that we don’t.

Lead us along your path for us today.  Lead us to become the people you envisioned us to be, long ago before the dirt underneath our feet was ever created.

Lead us into your purpose for us. We want to be your partners in the great story of our world. May we love, serve, honor and bless the people we meet today, and all of creation that we tread upon today.

Spend time with this passage of Scripture:

28-30″Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:29-30, The Message)
